The Venue - Cochrane

The Venue Bar & Grill is an excellent spot for live entertainment, featuring the best sports coverage and a delicious new menu. The staff and service are top-notch, and the atmosphere and music are fantastic. It's important to mention that anything written before May 2016 is not relevant, as the current owners have completely renovated the place with state-of-the-art audio and video equipment. They also bring in the best bands for live entertainment five days a week and show all sports games all the time.

My friend and I were disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant tonight. We came for wing night and noticed a few dirty, empty tables. We decided to sit at the bar instead, but even after 30 minutes, the tables remained dirty. We politely asked one of the five servers if they could clean a table for us, but were told they were too busy. The food was good when it finally arrived, but the overall service left much to be desired. The bartender came to ask how our food was, but when I replied from my seat at the bar, she rolled her eyes and walked away. To make matters worse, one server was seen standing behind the bar, playing with her hair instead of attending to customers.

The food at this restaurant is amazing! Their wings are the best I've ever had, and I'm from Calgary. The atmosphere is very cozy and the personalized layout makes it feel like home.

I bit into a piece of glass in my salad. Told the waitress and she said she had no idea where it came from because they had no broken glass in the kitchen, like I had planted it there. She gave me a whole 1.50$ off, not good for business. In this instance my meal should have been free. I mean I bit a piece of glass! Ridiculous.

I like the new decor after the reno from the old Texas Gate. Much brighter. I was sad to learn the Chinese fellow that usedto cook for rhe Texas Gate is no longer there as he used to make some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Regardless, I stopped in here for a beer and a burger. The burger was quite tasty and juicy...decent quality. That being said, the burgers seemed to be priced at the higher end of what I would consider acceptable for bar food.
