Open since 1934, this unique spot is apparent once you open the door: The owner's Jack Russell terrier barks at you, announcing your arrival. He is then willing to be petted, and circles back to your table to be sociable. We arrived on a Lenten Friday, searching for a fish fry. It was all we could have hoped for and more: Choice of three portion sizes, generous sides, and it arrived quickly. There are daily specials, written on the blackboard by the front door. The patrons are mostly neighbor regulars at the bar; the music is late 70's Top 40. This is a good place to relax.
Ran out of Guinness at 6pm on St. Pats day. Never brought water. Raw fries AFTER meal eaten. Asked for Russian dressing for my Reuben, they were all out. Um, it’s St. Pats day. Waitress ‘tossed’ our silverware at us. Crackers too. Soup served in to-go containers. I felt like twilight zone. Wrecked my Irish holiday. Worst! Oh Dollar tree table coverings. Only 5menu choices. No salad at all on ‘special’ menu!!
Jazz musicians who are hitting their stride the day after Thanksgiving are rare souls. But you can find them at Tiny’s Grill in Utica. The place has been a jazz club and nutcracker museum for three decades. Good food. Great music. Fun people.
Such a cute place and the food was great! Also loved the doggie ?
