Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse

On our annual trip to Cape Cod we always make sure to include a dinner at Delmonico's Utica. While the service and friendliness may fluctuate, the food always “merit le detour”. Generally we order good basic Italian dishes like linguine vongole, Utica greens and veal parmigiana. The steak sizes are too big for our palate.

I usually love Delmonico's and spent a lot of money with them. Today, I was beyond disappointed! Order curbside pickup, medium-well steak, extra garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms and BELL peppers, kid's steak with penne pasta. I pick it up get home, undress myself get comfortable to eat just to find out they forgot my kid's pasta. So now I have to call again, get dressed go back to pick it up. Wasted a half an hour, get home and 1 side of the steak is BURNT completely, the worst steak I've ever had from them. They put hot peppers instead of bell, which I hate plus they were mixed with the mushrooms, so it RUINED the mushrooms. 80$ later and I'm still hungry and pissed off!

It was our 30th anniversary. I put that in the reservation as well as we wanted to be seated outside. Hostess sat us in the bar area...way too noisy. No one mentioned our celebration. Thought we'd get a little extra attention, but no such luck.

Making a reservation on Open Table for 6;45, had no benefit.. we waited 30 mins for a table and dinner was served after 9:OO, the waitress was lovely, The delay was the worst I have ever experienced... no offer to comp, anything, we did not ask to be however heard the staff offering comps to other guests that waited just like us.... Unreasonable!

We always love Delmonico's and enjoy the ambience and the food. But this was Father's Day. They were extremely busy. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation, which was good. But the food never arrived to our table for an hour and 40 minutes after we ordered. The fillet was very overdone dry like leather and so was my husband steak. I'm sure it was just because they were extremely busy. I'm going to give it another try.
