Contribuiți la feedbackThe interior decor is admittedly unique. Festive atmosphere. Food is pretty straightforward. I'm still trying to understand how a Bavarian restaurant specializes in fried chicken and doesn't have a wide brat and sausage selection. Nothing to brag about. Server was very efficient and friendly. The host left me standing for several minutes while he was on the phone. Didn't even look at me or nod or acknowledge my presence. Another lady came over and seated us.
It was a Saturday, at 1pm, on a holiday weekend. I had already popped in to a few places, with two kids in tow, and kept hearing about 30+ minute wait times (and added my name to a list, just in case). We walked in this massive restaurant, with multiple dining rooms, one having an amusement park-like line. We walked past that line, through some hallways, and saw a hostess station. I approached the station, where an individual whose dreams had died a long time ago, replied to my inquiry regarding the wait time with a snappy response about no wait time. But then didn 't offer a table... so that was awkward. My kids and I were eventually taken into the dining room, seated in a corner that had 4 chairs but would be cramped if we had a fourth mouth. They have fruit and nut bread on the table. While eating it my child asks the server what 's in the bread and he replied fruit and nuts ... LOL. It would have been nice to know specifics but whatever. The server was nice but either new or just awkward. It was difficult to get my water refilled so I just drank from my kid 's. I wasn 't expecting the starter soup, so that was a nice treat. The chicken was fine. Not amazing. The kids menu states ice cream is included. It was a huge perk to coming here. I overheard another server saying the machine broke (which could be true, despite another table receiving ice cream during the beginning of our lunch). However, our server never addressed it. He didn 't even ask if we wanted dessert. Just handed over the check and thanked us for coming. I was interested in an Oreo milkshake if my kids weren 't getting ice cream. Oh well. Huge disappointment.
This was the coolest place to eat in Frankenmuth. I love the food and staff. The accordion player was awesome. The schnitzel and the chicken and the cheese potato puffs and the saurkraut and the cranberry relish and omg the pork. I really can't wait to visit again.
It was OK. The food was definitely more overpriced for those flavors, but I figured that we 're basically paying for the experience. I ordered the Frankenmuth dinner. To be honest, the famous fried chicken tasted bland and slightly old. The roasted beef portion was a thin slice of what looked like deli meat. My husband chose the Bavarian dinner which had smoked pork rather than fried chicken. That smoked pork was tastier than the chicken.
My husband and I were traveling to Traverse City, when we decided to make a stop in Frankenmuth. Such a fun city! After enjoying Christmas in July at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, we wrapped up our day at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Such a great choice! While waiting for our table, we had fun checking out the little shops in the building, where I purchased a miniature lucky gnome to carry in my purse. And it works too! For our meal, I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel and my husband ordered the Frankenmuth German dinner. Everything was delicious, from start to finish. First, we enjoyed a cup of noodle soup with a plate of bread, which included stollen. Yum! I don't typically care for stollen, but the Bavarian Inn version is to die for! The starters were followed by a selection of delightful salads before our entrees arrived. We were in food heaven! After finishing our meal, we had ice cream (which comes with the dinner) and shared the chocolate sampler. I highly recommend everything, especially dessert! The next time you're visiting Frankenmuth, I highly recommend that you give the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Just make sure to bring your appetite. Bon Appétit!
