Contribuiți la feedbackCame here for the ayce bbq. Side dish options were subpar, and the bbq meat selection was limited. Overall though, it is still a very good kbbq place. We had mostly the pork belly and brisket. Both of which went very well with the sesame oil. Will definitely be back.
I had the all you can eat buffet yesterday. Food is great, not much choices for the meat though. We pretty much only had the pork belly. Not complaining though as it was superb. I do feel a little bad for the waiter though. He seemed to be the only one working there managing tables, refilling buffet items, and manning the cashier. There were 2 others on duty but I saw them having beer in the corner and not doing anything. No complaints on the service though since the lone guy seemed to be doing a great job considering the circumstances. Would come back if I am ever in town again<br/
TK has been around for many years with recent owners changing the style and menu.<br/ <br/ The current set up offers low powered camp BBQs that take a while to get up to heat, especially with the type of hotplate and tin foil they use here. The BBQ menu range is very limited compared to other BBQ restaurant’s I have been to, but the side dishes and flavours are good.<br/ <br/ The set price is a little high for the range on offer, but overall a good place for a meal.
This place is satisfying and tasty. You get what you pay for for the $28 buffet and the meat is nice enough. I like the sweet and sour pork and fries, they are quite yummy. Will come here often when ravenously hungry.
It's criminal that there aren't more Korean BBQ joints in Wellington. Given this, it's mind boggling that the Taste of Korea has so many negative reviews. <br/ <br/ I think reviewers need to understand the proper culture of Korean BBQ. It's essentially self service BBQ where the autonomy is given to the diners. This means that it's up to the diners to be creative and decide how to eat their dishes. <br/ Criterion to determine a successful Korean BBQ are as follows:<br/ <br/ The cut, freshness and variety of meat.<br/ Authenticity and taste of its side dishes.<br/ How the Korean Fried chicken is.<br/ <br/ In terms of the variety of meat, TK is very limited, but I found the meat to be quite fresh and the cut of meat to be quite good in terms of the pork and bulgogi.<br/ <br/ The side dishes are awesome they have deokbokki, pretty good kimchi and raddish.<br/ <br/ During my time in Wellingon I have often searched fruitlessly around for authentic Korean fried chicken. Even now, as I'm working in Auckland, I find it difficult to find a place that serves that crispy unique taste. TK delivers with excellent fried chicken that is fried to be supremely crunchy, with a dash of sweet chilli spice and tender cooked chicken inside.<br/ <br/ Showstopper; Best Korean fried chicken hands down in Wellington. Also, the cut of pork is excellent.<br/ <br/ Overall Grade: A
