Nando's Peri-peri - Chicago

I've made such a mistake living in this neighborhood for a year and not coming here. The chicken is great, the sides are really good, and it's one of the few chicken places you will walk into and get greeted at the door. The staff is really nice, the food is fantastic.

I had an order from this place, had about 4 articles in my order. only half of the order has occurred. whether it is this location or the door shower, I would recommend not order from here unless they go personally. one of the bowls we ordered didn't even have a bun in it. they go to another place when they can.

First time at Nando's and was impressed by the space... not so much the food or service. Ordered a 1/2 Chicken, 2 sides and brownie. Mashed potatoes are to die for, this and the Blue Moon on tap saves it from a 2 star. The staff seemed to be selectively bothered by customers as they chose to acknowledge groups and not single patrons. I just hung out behind the Wait to be seated sign until I figured out Nando's is more like a cafeteria than full service restaurant. After stepping up to order, we sat ourselves, waited about ten minutes until our food arrived and then received our beers. Chicken was good, well seasoned, just not any better value or taste than a Boston Market or dare I say Costco roasted chicken... the variety of Peri-Peri sauces make the meal. The Mild Lime and Medium sauces were our faves. Skip the Roasted Cauliflower as they are a steamed mush, not at all roasted. Same for the Brownie, no indulging with a bite size serving. Unfortunately this Nando's did not hit the mark for me.

Three words fresh, juicy and amazing chicken!!!Great variety sauces. The seasonal desert pumpkin spice Portuguese custard tart was absolutely phenomenal.

The restaurant forgot an order of fries in my takeout order. I didn't notice until I was 15 minutes away, and the restaurant claimed they couldn't do a refund over the phone. They offered to give me an order of fries next time I visited, but I live too far away to visit this location again anytime soon.We ordered a bowl, which was really good, and a wrap, which was small and not very exciting.Check your takeout order before leaving the restaurant!
