Contribuiți la feedbackI have eaten three times here and it was never good, but the nearby hotel has no restaurant and I don't want to go to town, so I have to eat here! But tonight was the last straw. An unpleasant man (the owner I appreciate)... takes your order and gable about God knows what in French, although he knows that I'm English. I don't expect any English from him, but at least slow down the French buddy and just talk. I order the lamb frame, Rose, please. When it comes, the middle is completely uncooked and stone to touch cold. So I'll call him and ask him to cook it a little more. It comes back and is still cold in the middle. I'll tell him, is that rose? He says it's Premier Rose PREMIER Rose who've ever heard of it? He means RAW!!! Anyway, I choose it as you do, and leave most of it, especially the very well boiled fat attached to it. To dessert I order the mousse au Chocolate. Stodgy Instant Whip with pieces of chocolate thrown in. When I pay, he must use a calculator to add 17.50 (the lamb) 7.80 (2 beers) and does not charge me for the disgust. Not being charged for something does NOT make everything better. Then he hopes to see me again soon. As I say that was terrible. But the beer was good, even here they can't ruin a bottle of 1664!
We have just returned from a visit to the Loire and had pleasure again, to visit this wonderful restaurant. Anne and Pascal the wonderful owners, Anne being the chef, could not have made us more welcome, food was incredible, steaks so tender and delicious, sauces...fabulous and cheeses some of the most delicious ever tasted, fabulous wine list and served to perfection... lovely atmosphere, I cannot understand the reviews below that did not give this restaurant a five star rating! what do people want! We cannot wait to return and be welcomed and dined again. Thank you Anne and Pascal
If you are travelling near Gievre in the Loire, I can recommend the restaurant Sapinere. A charming rustic house that is warm and welcoming. The owner is sympathetic speaks some English and has a beautiful feeling of humor What you get is a menu of...classical French cuisine oysters fois gras frog legs naturally all cooked and presented beautifully. There are salads for the less adventurous. When you order Steak lamb or duck, it is cooked on an open log fire. If it is summer, you can eat on the terrace and enjoy good food in a quiet environment with just the sound of birds chirping as you are away from any traffic in a hidden gem when a restaurant A very pleasant French experience at a very favorable price I hope you make it there and if you say that you found it on Tripadvisor these family businesses need to survive. Thank you.
This is a very welcoming restaurant right in front of Gievres and serves a very good and tasty cuisine with a speciality on grilled meat. There are also excellent fish chefs and delicious desserts. Very recommended, maybe for lunch. a €13 Formule restaurant when the restaurant... is very busy.
We have visited a holiday house in Gievres so often. There are a number of good restaurants in the area but we always make sure we go to La Sapiniere at least once when we are over. The food is good, the staff is always friendly and helpful and the ambience is great. One or two reviews criticize the attitude of the owner or staff. Our first experience was not great, we tried to eat there without booking and it was full. The owner was a bit brutal, but he wasn't so surprised by his feet. Since then we have always booked, always a warm welcome and have a pleasant chat as well as a very good meal. Go for the baked potato, cooked in the grill, which is delicious in the center of the dining room!
