I had reservations to take my wife for our jubilee. we sat the closest and worst table near the door and customs of other diners. the server constantly reached over me to bring my wife's eating objects even to pack her teller before we ask if we were done. the food was sub par best starting with an salad pulled out of a bag with a few cut vegetables at the corners. the all baked potato came dry with the beats in a separate container (just put it on the potato please.) the expensive rib eye crispy and even cooked rarely and covered in molten butter. the lobster mac and the cheese came with lobster bowl pieces and was more butter and oil than cheese. all items were very salty tasting and sub par. the meal was terrible from beginning to end and cost near 200. I will never return unless there is a complete transformation in the menu and in the kitchen.
Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but the pace was poor with a long wait between salad and entree. Steaks were good, but not great, and not what I was expecting from a restaurant of this caliber. My biggest complaint, however, is all the little up charges for items most high end steak houses would not charge $1 for blu cheese olives in martini, $10 plate fee to split 2 lb bone in (market price) rib eye, $5 for bearnaise sauce, $10 for paying with credit card, etc. I wouldn’t have minded the total cost for a good steak dinner; just build that into the price and don’t nickel and dime me for what most high end steak houses routinely offer.

We love the atmosphere here! it is a wonderful place to visit for date night or a special occasion. I have to say that only two things were not pleasant. our brot was cold and the salat had mainly unusual salat and not iceberg or romaine. because of health problems, we need to eat light green salad in comparison to the super-dark. these two items are important for us in each restaurant, so we evaluate the locations based on these standards. we would visit dc steakhouse more often if they had not considered it for us.
