Contribuiți la feedbackMy friends and I have been frequenting this pub for a few months now and we always enjoy a well-kept pint of beer and the friendly atmosphere. Today, we decided to try the Sunday lunch carvery for the first time and we were not disappointed! The meat was cooked to perfection - the pork was tender and the roast beef was a nice pink. The vegetables, especially the cauliflower cheese, were cooked just right and the gravy was delicious. You can pair your meal with excellent beer or choose from a reasonably priced bottle of wine or by the glass. I appreciated the absence of a TV in the dining area, allowing us to focus on our conversation with pleasant background music playing. However, there is a bar area for those who wish to watch sports. The Black Lion is located just outside the center of Aberystwyth, next to a charming old church with 500-year-old yew trees in the churchyard. The value for money is excellent and worth the short 8-minute drive from the city center.
The Church of Llanbadarn Fawr is situated approximately one mile to the east of the city center of Aberystwyth, in Wales. It is part of the diocese of St. David's in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. The church is named after Saint Padarn, with "Badarn" being a mutation of Padarn, making it easier to say as Llanbadarn. The church holds regular Sunday services in both Welsh and English, and also features a choir, a bell ringing group, and a welcoming community spirit that guides and cares for its members.
This restaurant is located in a stunning church building, both inside and out. Guests have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of this historic spot.
