I ordered from here a few times to take away and never disappointed, and I wanted to go and have the Fish Head Curry in the restaurant. The food was amazing! Authentic and best find in the DMV area. The Roti Canai, Fish Purée-Bohnen-Curd, Fried Rice, Fish Head-Curry and Salted Egg-Punnen are a few things we had and all were super delicious!! We will continue to return and continue to order!! Every time I miss KL, Malaysian Kopitiam will visit
I had a great experience at this restaurant. I loved their Roti Canai, which reminded me of roti prata from Singapore. The curry was very flavorful. I was happy to see Milo on the menu as well. I can't wait to come back!
For the uninitiated they have menus posted on the wall. But if you are familiar with Thai, Malay cuisine is not too distant. The decor is Chinese Malay. We had a vivacious host take our order. Service was pretty fast. For a Sunday lunch during COVID time they were pretty but although social distancing and masks are in full force. The Satay proved to be good starter. Megoreng, nasegoreng and the prawn soup carried authentic flavors. Refreshingly Malay!
I ordered the Shrimp Omelette lunch special (L3) and it was a great value at $9. The omelette was a good size and delicious, served with rice and 2 spring rolls. The dipping sauce was a sweet and tangy vinegar/fish sauce, similar to what you would find in Vietnamese restaurants. Overall, a very tasty meal.
We heard about the Hainan Chicken Rice at Thea place. Got some food to go and decided to dine in during the Chinese New Year special. The chicken rice isn’t the best in the area, but the Indo-Malaysian dishes are quite good.
