The Bay Cafe - Castle Point

I had a wonderful breakfast at this restaurant and the homemade bread pudding was also fantastic. It was a great discovery during a weekend trip and I can't wait to come back again.

Stopped off 24th June 2021….I had prawn salad, hubby had sausages and chips…2 coffees, 2 teas….very nice, presented nicely, value for money, very clean including toilets….very happy to recommend

I go to this cheery cafe quite regularly on Canvey Seafront as it is only a short walk from my home. Basic food is sold at mostly reasonable prices nothing special but a godsend along the seafront after a walk. (I can 't believe there are people moaning about having to pay £1.00 for a can of drink. No one is forcing you! A couple of times now when the cafe is busy, the food does not come out as such a high standard. And, often the cafe sells out of products and lets you know quite a while from ordering. I was disappointed that during COVID 19 that a young lady handed my son an ice cream with her bare hands, but I didn 't want to kick up a fuss. I made him throw it away re sanitise his hands and go to the ice cream van down the road where full P.P.E is in place. A lot of the staff are quite young so I wonder if owners just need to be sure the staff are being trained effectively! I worked in a cafe myself from a very young age up until I was 20, and you sure do learn a few things over the years! That being said, overall the cafe is friendly, toilets clean and lovely location.

After a long walk around the sea wall, we found this restaurant in a great location. We decided to stop in for a coffee and toasties to enjoy outside since the seating area was closed. The staff were incredibly friendly and the toasties were delicious.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was amazing. I will definitely be returning in the future. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and plentiful. I highly recommend this place, and they also make a delicious bread pudding.
