Saint James Gate Irish Pub

The poutine was lovely. Our waitress was brilliant. The place was busy but she managed fine, and still made time for everyone.

I was recommended this place by a friend, and since I'm new to Carleton Place, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and the well-maintained pub with a cozy atmosphere. Although I initially came for takeout wings and didn't realize the promotion was for dine-in only on wing night, the owner, Scott, kindly honored it anyway. I must say, the wings were some of the best I've ever had, especially their delicious in-house sauce called Hell's Gate. I highly recommend this place and plan to order and dine here regularly.

Went for dinner this evening and the food was amazing! Server was sweet and attentive. Portions were fantastic and lots of beer choices available. Would like to see Ashton Brewery beers, but this place is fantastic regardless and we will be back!!We sat on the patio and it was lovely.

The wings are huge and delicious. Ok beer selection. Great service.

We were in town for a gig and looking for a place to get food and some beer, and could not possibly be happier with finding this gem. The fries are incredible, great gravy, and both the fish chips and seafood fondue is out of this world. Combine that with friendly staff and a very cozy pub atmosphere and you can't possibly lose.If you're in town from away or a local who hasn't been yet, do not miss this place.
