Newmans At 988 - Cannon Beach

Absolutely the best meal of my whole life! The service was perfect. The food was perfect. The atmosphere was fantastic. We were slightly dressed (still in jeans) and we felt dressed. This is super understandable as it is an authentic Italian fine restaurant. We had the chief prix dinner. I told my husband two bites in the main course (prime rib) that I could die after dinner and have no regret in life. There are a number of reviews that complain about the price or partial sizes. We both left home. The dishes are cooked with such skill and mastery. The ingredients are fabulous. Is it expensive? But we were more than happy to pay for it and plan to return in the future. Make a reservation only to be sure as there are very limited seats. Go with empty stomach and enjoy.

We had a very nice dinner in Newman?s on a special terrace (its primary terrace was closed). I especially enjoyed her lamb frame. It was moderately rare and had perfect seasoning and did not overtake the rosemary that many restaurants do. The use of finely chopped hazelnuts was great. We also had their Marshall Davis Cabernet really great cabin. We'll be back. Very nice.

Delicious 4-course menu with wonderful ambience and attentive staff. The food was unique and tasteful. Very recommended, and make sure to make reservations!

The lamb of rack with potatoes, mushroom, and vegetables was amazing. My fiancé loves sweet wines and the waitress was able to accommodate. While I understand the area and who commonly attends this restaurant, as a young couple we felt a bit uncomfortable. Many looks from people who acted as if we were outsiders and long periods of time without any help on suggestions. If I?m a young couple looking for fine dining this place is acceptable, but be prepared to feel out of place and awkward .

Honestly I didn?t know what to expect coming into Newman?s but WOW, I?m so glad we came here! This was hands down one of the best meals I?ve had in my life! Also an incredible fine dining experience. We got the Chef Prix Fixe (four course meal) with wine pairing and it was to die for. The restaurant is in a historical house which was unique and it had a homey feel to it. The staff were all friendly and service was great. Must make a reservation here, perfect for date night at the beach! We will definitely be back!
