Bourbon Street Kitchen - Canberra

I have always found Sammy's to be a reliable option for affordable meals, although I must admit that the food may not always be of the highest quality or healthiest. However, during my most recent visit to Sammy's, I was disappointed to find that the food was overly greasy and bland. After just one bite, my companions and I decided to leave. This experience was enough for me to reconsider returning to Sammy's in the future. I hope that this was just a one-time issue and that they were simply having an off day.

I have never had a negative experience at Sammy's. The service is consistently quick and the food is always delicious. I highly recommend trying the Chef's Special sizzling fish in chilli sauce - it's the best fish I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation as Sammy's is always busy!

I really wanted to like this place and visited twice to give it a second chance. But it was still bad. The food is bland and never ever get the cornbread! It is extremely dry and hard as a rock! The service is terrible, both times I had to get up to ask staff to take our order. And don't try giving feedback as the staff will argue with you. Very disappointing.

Not sure what the other diners are talking about, my sister an I went there last night and yes it was empty bar a couple but my sister had the Gumbo and I had the Chicken and on all counts it was amazing, we have travelled to New Orleans and had Gumbo there and in comparison this was so much more delicious. The service was excellent and the Key Lime Pie was amazing reminded us of our Key West trip way back when. I don't know what the other diners are on about but we have every intention of going back there with more family members as long as it stays open we will be regulars. As for the price I didn't think it was particularly expensive.

I would not usually get on here to complain as I think it is better to see the positives in each place you visit, but this place is a TOTAL JOKE! We went on a Friday night at 7pm. The place was empty. It remained this way, bar one other couple. But for some reason the food (ordered 6 entrees to share) took way too long to get to the table. The food and the portion sizes were woeful (even for entree standards). Especially the "Mac&Cheese Bites"! It was presented to us as 4 HALF teaspoon serves of Mac & Cheese spread across a small plate. This dish alone cost $14!!! Are you kidding?! I should have got up and walked out then, but I was hoping the cocktails would save the meal.... they did not. They were the most washed out cocktails I have ever had. The whole "meal" and 4 drinks cost us $126! Someone is definitely having a pull. We ventured past this establishment later in the night after we had gotten some real food elsewhere, just to see if it had picked up - it was totally empty. Save your money and go somewhere else.
