Arriving at 11 am, before the lunch rush, bothservers on the floor asked for our order. Our order of soup and salad and roasted beet salad took 25 minutes to arrive. Several tables entered after us, and were served sammy 's and fish and chips before we were served. I forgot your salad dressing, want another beer? No thanks . Dressing came with want another beer? No, thanks again. As a Master Brewer, and a chef of 55 years, I know beer and I know what a roasted beet looks, feels, smells, and tastes like. This roasted beet salad had three slices of canned beets amid a delightful mix of salad greens. All in all, a nice idea in a reasonable location with poor service, mediocre beer, and a deceptive kitchen. We will find other options on or next visit.
Mill City Brew Werks What a nicely decorated, modern style micro brewery. Its located on the strip of downtown camas in the middle of all the various restaurants and unique shops. Mill City Brew Werks is a kid friendly atmosphere which provides a great selection of food and drinks for the kiddos to choose from. Never fear adults there is another section for us 21 and over peeps. So happy areas are on daily, so get your drink on, responsibly that is lol. There beer is Nitro infused which provides a unique and wonder taste/spin to beer. They have all ranges of beer from very light to very dark, so all range of lovers will enjoy. The do serve other alcohol as well never fear. I observed various tables being served wine. We had a dark nitro infused beer and the wife happily reports it was Refreshing! Food, WOW for appetizers we had the calamari. When it arrived, the misses said I think they gave us mozzarella sticks lol, well it looks just like it but its not. The calamari were amazing, crunch breading, HOT and YUMMY. The dipping sauce was also amazing. Had a very slight kick to it. Kids dish was the flat bread cheese pizza with pepperoni and side of fries. Now I have seen some big fries before (steak fires but the fires they serve make steak fries look like skinny fries. My son reports two thumbs up on his food. The wife had a lamb wrap with a side of fries. It 's a big size pita bread with what looks like half a goat inside lol. You get a lot of lamb in that wrap, WOW. Wife reports the meal was Delicious. I had the Mt Hood burger with the Beer batter onion rings. WOW, WOW and WOW. Burger cook exactly the way you request it, toppings (mushrooms, swiss cheese lettuce, onions, tomatoes etc. fresh and yummy. The onion rings were also a hit. Crispy on the outside and yummy tasting onion on the inside. Whether it 's a night out with the kids, a drink after work with the team or meeting someone for that first date etc., I would recommend this place. Its on or regular dinning list Mill City Brew Werks for a great dining experience
Since we had already eaten breakfast, we wanted a lighter lunch to hold us over until dinner, so we shared the French Dip Panini. We upgraded our sides to the onion rings, which are beer-battered with their own IPA. Both the sandwich and the rings were very good. The sandwich was on the smaller side compared to others we've had elsewhere; I'm not sure if all their sandwiches are like that or if it was just this particular panini. However, it was still a sufficient portion for one person and just right for us to share as a lighter meal (as light as a delicious, melty grilled meat sandwich with onion rings can be, anyway!). The service was friendly and attentive, and our food arrived fairly quickly.
Mill City is such a great, easy and comfortable spot for lunch, dinner or any occasion. I love dropping in on a Friday mid-afternoon, right before the weekend hits. Since it's located right in the heart of Camas, it's awesome to pop in with friends or grab some food after work before heading home. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches, especially the turkey bacon panini and the chicken caprese panini. They are sooo good! They also have a bunch of burgers and I'm surprised I haven't even tried one of them yet. It's never too crowded when I've gone in and the staff is very friendly and attentive. In terms of beer, I believe they have a rotating selection of seasonals and ciders, though I could be wrong. I have had the Red Beard and Alpha Ale IPA a few times and have enjoyed both. For any families out there, Mill City has a kids menu! So while you're trying to figure out which beer to order, you can quickly place an order for chicken fingers or a grilled cheese to keep the kiddos calm, happy and busy. My kids also love looking through at the big brewery tanks below through their large glass window. I don't know why, but they just love starring down there and seeing the staff walk by haha! I'll take it! Mill City is definitely a nice feature to have in town. It's great to be able to grab a bite to eat and a beer to enjoy, without having to drive too far.
Our family recently went for a long hike along Lacamas Lake and found ourselves pretty hungry and in need of some refreshments. We stopped here to grab a beer and because the menu looked so good we ended up staying for an early dinner. I loved my beet salad! I had the chicken on top and I just loved how it was prepared. It was fresh and interesting. My hubby loved his lamb gyro that he ordered and I have to say that it was fabulous. This location is in the cute downtown part of Camas. The service was pretty good and it would be a great place to catch a game on tv. Definitely worth checking out!!
