Cafe Fili - Calumet-Norvelt

WOW! A quaint neighborhood restaurant that served great tasting meals. Tonight's dinner consisted mostly of folks eating al fresco since the weather was so cooperative. The chicken shish tawook kabob platter was fantastic! Chunks of flavorful chicken on top of vermicelli rice was a big winner. Enjoy!

Like this place. This Mediterranean cafe is located in a quiet neighborhood behind Union Station. I mainly like their internal design; it's very spacious, and full of sunshine. Food and drink is also great. Staff is very friendly :

Why have I not been here before? Cafe Fili is so outstanding when it comes to food and service. I went there today for brunch and was greeted by Chris who was very nice and wonderful. For food I tried the Goat Salad, forgot to take the picture because I was busy speaking to my guest and the salad was just amazing. I really appreciate Chris asking me about wanting Goat Cheese instead of Feta because that was unavailable. Small details like that matter and it is the people

Cafe Fili is a great restaurant! Not only is the food great, the bartender Chris will whip up whatever kind of cocktail you're in the mood for. He is incredibly personable, makes connections with the customers, and remembers you for the next time. Another thing I love about the restaurant is that their happy hour extends to the weekends which is a rarity in DC. Highly recommend coming here next time you're near Union Station!

Chris the bartender made me and a friend the most delicious cocktails! The infused whiskey was epic and the bee?s knees made a gin-lover out of my friend. The hummus was tasty, as well.
