Taqueria El Manantial - Calhoun

Very homey atmosphere to the place. All the prices are very reasonable. First time there was empty but food was very good, also been trying to find a place that does fried plantons lol. They also sell those dry dessert like breads which is cool. Menu is very diverse from hispanic to central american, to well american lol. Owner is very cool, i always order from here if i want mexican food. EDIT: NEW PLACE IS HUUUUGE. Same food same love, just bigger place.

Last time I was there to picky my husbands food I noticed the place wasn't clean, glass window was never clean,come on is a restaurant,needs to be spotless if you want good reviews, please make effort, because this details are minimum for some people but when is about a restaurant you need to keep eye on it! Hope the new place is clean Buena suerte! Food is not bad I won't lie! But please keep the place clean

I’ve been 3x. The first time a while back, there was a fly in my food. No apologies or anything. Second time, just about a month ago, decided to give it another try (before they moved to their new location) I got sick to my stomach. The cook walked out of the kitchen WITH GLOVES ON and went to the register for me to pay my order. Walked back in kitchen with gloves on. Today, went with my family to their new location. Service was absolutely unacceptable. First meal came out and 20 min later, 4 more came out, then 5 mins later another one and then 5 mins later, mine. My husband was still missing his (which was THE SAME EXACT AS THE FIRST MEAL). Everyone was done eating and he didn’t want his food at that point. Servers went in the bathroom with their aprons on. Delivered food to tables and on their phones. It wasn’t even that busy. Their excuse was “there’s only two cooks and we’re busy!” I’ve I worked in the food industry for over a decade, server and management and the service was just terrible. The drinks (glassed drinks) in the kitchen are directly on the floor, that’s a health code violation. We will not be back. They’re not a new business. There’s no excuse.

This place has potential. My biggest complaint was that they didn’t bring the orders to our table all together and the wait time is rather long. We were a party of four two orders came out after over 20 minutes. 10 minutes later the third order came out. Another 10 minutes before my order came out. By the time my order came, my co workers had finished eating. I would try this place again as quality was great. The service definitely needs improvement.

Really good food. I've driven past this place so many times in the 9 years I've lived in Calhoun. I had finally decided to stop in and it was worth it. I ordered some steak tacos and nachos. My family loved it
