We went up to the second floor restaurant and had a delicious breakfast bowl, consisting of eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and cheese -- enough for two people so we shared! The other menu offerings looked excellent as well. So sorry we discovered this place so late in our trip.
Main floor a super supermarket of fresh and organic foods. The restaurant is on the third floor and offers a variety of soecials different days. We had a delicious, inexpensive, if not overly warm meal in modern and bright room with an outdoor roof patio.
Sunterra on corner of 9th ave and 12th ave is a small, unique fresh and organic food store. Their Marketbar, a sunday chef's dream, provides a wide variety of mouth tempting and stomach groaning salads, cooked meat, poultry, fish for lucheons and dinners for either eating in or taking out. They also do daily breakfasts for $7.99 Our favourite was the fingers licking good baby ribs! Hmmmmmmm good! We were staying at the Fairmont Palliser hotel and our daily routine exercise was walking to Sunterra to get our daily breakfast ingredients int the store and get our dinner at the Marketbar. Delicious healthy conveniences! Awesome!
This is the best value for grabbing a bite during the lunch hour. The pizza is great too! There is also a great outdoor terrace in the summer if you want to get some vitamin D while grabbing a bite. The location is very close to the Stampede if you happen to be in town in July.
A fun place I try to always visit for lunch when I’m in the area. There are two main options – the sit down restaurant and grocery store. This review is of the grocery store. There are multiple options ranging from a weigh and pay salad bar, made to order panini’s, pre-made sandwiches, coffee, cakes and baking (1st floor) and made to order pizza, pasta, ‘big bowl of the day’ and special of the day that both rotate daily (top floor). Ordering can be intimidating for the first timer so try and get there early and ask questions if needed. I like the variety of options and the price and quickness can’t be beat. I recommend to anyone looking for a quick meal that is not a burger. A detailed review follows:Ambience – like a bustling cafeteria…it is always busy at lunch. Try and get there before lunch if you can to secure a table.Food – While the flavours might be standard for mass produced meals, the variety more than makes up for it and should please all palates.Price – My ‘big bowl of the day’ meal of butter chicken was only $6.99.Parting Words – Great variety, fast service and good price…three things that are worth the visit to me. They also have great meals to take home for easy cooking. This is my opinion…thanks for reading…hope it helps…happy travels!
