Contribuiți la feedbackThe cakes and sandwiches at this restaurant are delicious, but the service is severely lacking. From the moment we arrived, we felt rushed and were informed that they would begin closing up in just 20 minutes, even though it was only 6:10 PM. They didn't have utensils available, the coffee machine was broken, and there was no hot water for tea. Overall, we were unimpressed and believe that this establishment could easily shut down without much impact. There are plenty of other bakeries and restaurants in the area that offer superior food and service.
I'll preface this with that my review is specifically for the tiramisu. The people working there are fine (although the workers ignored me for a minute despite there being no other customers around), the interior is clean and nicely decorated, and the rest of their goods may very well be good... but since I've only ordered the tiramisu that's all I can base this on.Their tiramisu is not tiramisu. If you've had authentic tiramisu before you'll notice immediately that what they are selling is more like simple chocolate cake with some flavorless mousse and a dusting of cocoa powder. There's no hint of mascarpone, espresso (ironically a few coffee beans adorn the top, though) , amaretto, or any ladyfingers used in the layering. It's an eternal struggle of mine to roll the dice at any restaurant or bakery and hope that I get lucky and actually get authentic-tasting tiramisu... more often than not, I am disappointed. So I am simply leaving this review for any other prospective tiramisu-seekers out there. Take heed, you will not find the tiramisu that you seek here.
We got 3 things here, the strawberry shortcake, the vanilla cupcake, and the passion fruit mousse. Everything was stale! The only thing I actually enjoyed was the layer of whipped cream in the strawberry shortcake. But you could taste that all these things were sitting out for at least a few days. It was a shame not one thing was fresh. It was unfortunately a waste of money coming here.
Great cakes and even excellent customer experience from ordering, customization to delivery. Thank you to Rosa and the team at Cakery for a wonderful lemon cake and cupcakes for my mom's 75th birthday. This is the reason I keep coming back.
A M B I A N C E The interior was clean and the place had seating area both on the inside and outside. The place is usually empty inside so when you walk in, the employee is ready to help you or answer any questions that you have. They have some really nicely decorated cakes on display that you can see from the outside (I didn't take a photo). S E R V I C E The employee is friendly. The Swedish Princess looked very interesting to me and the employee was able to explain to me what the layers in the cake are. F O O D *Swedish Princess Slice*This airy sponge cake has layers of pastry cream, raspberry jam (i think), and whipped cream with it. It is covered by a layer of marzipan so the almond flavor was pretty noticeable when I first took a bite. I thought this cake is pretty unique. P R I C E A slice of Swedish Princess cake was $7.45, which is I think is decent for something like this. I also shared it with a friend and half a slice was more than enough for me after getting brunch nearby.
