Contribuiți la feedbackWe came to Bucyrus for a friend’s wedding and stayed in the Napoleon suite for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay! The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Really comfortable bed with a relaxing jacuzzi in the room.
My fiance and I were not going to post our negative experience here but since the owner continues to harass us here’s everything that has happened. In December of 2023( Dec22-24 we stayed here. We pull in and there was no one there lights were all off then we turn the corner to our room and there were dead mice on the floor, which were from the country we understand mice can get in but you’d think they’d do a walk through before their only guests arrive. Then we attempted to use the jacuzzi tub but when we ran it, there were “floaters” all over. Upon further inspection of the tub it was extremely dirty. So we decided to just enjoy our time and not use the tub. Then when l went to use the shower the toilet paper holder was out of the wall and the shower floor was spongy and cracked. My fiance had paid to have our dinner there so he could surprise me and propose to me and they had told him last minute that they didn’t have a chef(he never got refunded for that. then the last morning my food was inedible due to mold on my food. After our stay we brought this up to the owner, whom reached out to us first, and we approached this all in a very kind way because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings but the owner responded in such a nasty way. Extremely unprofessional. Do not stay here until they have new ownership. Read the reviews that give any sort of criticism and you’ll see how unprofessional the owner is. Since our stay they’ve continued to text my fiance then proceed to text him off different numbers. EDIT adding this because the owner wants to lie and say we never stayed. My husband and I stayed here over the weekend for our 10 year anniversary. We booked in April and were very excited as we don’t get away often. Although there were a couple of highlights the overall experience was underwhelming at best. Room 3/5- we had originally booked another suite but were offered an “upgrade” for a small fee and we stayed in the Cherry suite. The steam shower and copper tub were very nice. The bed was comfortable. However this room is in the basement which makes it slightly dark and you could tell it was damp and there were cobwebs In the stairwell going down. Also, when we arrived there were a few flies in the room which I understand as it’s the country but by the second day this problem got much worse with fruit flies which makes it seem as though there was a cleanliness issue and they were being attracted to something, even though we kept everything picked up and took dishes to the kitchen quickly. It’s hard to drink wine when flies are instantly attracted to it. Staff 4/5- There was one staff member on site that we could communicate with. He was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The other people there did not speak English so if he was not around it was hard to ask questions or get help. When texting the number provided we did not get a reply. We did call the number once and the person who answered was not on site and referred back to the same person already helping us at the inn. It seemed like the staff onsite were not aware of what should be in the rooms and someone else had control of those details. Breakfast 5/5- breakfast was really good and had alot of our favorite things. It was simple but well done and we enjoyed it. Package and upgrades 1/5- we purchased an additional package and some add ons which came to around $700 extra on top of the room. We ended up not receiving some of the items including a seasonal bouquet of flowers and artisan cheese plate. For this price we did receive a couple bottles of wine, roses, candles which were never lit, rose petals on the bed, a charcuterie board which had some good items but some crackers were stale and cheese melted, chocolate fondue, and chocolate covered strawberries which were mostly inedible due to being soggy and the chocolate runny all over the plate. We were supposed to have a massage however they did contact us ahead of time to let us know the lmt was not available so this was replaced with the roses and a bottle of wine which we appreciated the communication and agreed to. I think for what we actually received compared to the price these items are lackluster at best. Overall we paid over 2000 for 2 nights. This breaks down to roughly 700 for the room, 800 for the package and add ons, and another 500 or more in fees including service fee, cleaning fee, gratuity, etc and tax. For this price I expected more. I would suggest getting more help onsite or lowering prices to reflect the actual experience offered.
We had a great time! The cherry room is beautiful and so big and the shower is amazing . Staff was also so accommodating. Definitely recommend!
This amazing hide away made our two day vacation feel like a month away from the cares of the world. Debbie thought of every detail from personalized breakfasts to dinner recommendations. Absolutely the best of the best of the best !
