Agostino's - Brooklyn

A great distance and a place to have a party with family and friends.

My husband and I heard that Agostinos had a wonderful spaghetti special on Tuesday and since I had eaten a lot at Agostino when I was a teenager (about 15 years ago) and it LOVED, we thought we would try. This ended as the worst meal and overall experience we ever had in a restaurant! We waited about 30 minutes for a table (and it wasn't even full), the service was terrible and when we got our spaghetti it was overdue. The waitress told us they cooked their noodles to al dente, but that was far beyond al dente. Never come again!

My husband and I tried Agostinos on a friend's recommendation. The bread we got before the meal was absolutely excellent crusty with a beautiful airy soft center. (I spent the last few months trying to duplicate it. I'd just have filled the bread and almost already. I got the lobster ravioli and it was tops. A real, delicious meal. The sauce was just perfect, like a bisque and creamy. My husband got a penne court with red sauce and, I was commented by the earlier reviewers because, if at all, I thought the sauce was too thick. We waited for our meal, but not long enough to disturb me, and it was warm when we got it. At the end of the meal we got coffee, which was decent. We're going back. My only complaint is that I thought it was a little expensive... And I was so full that I could burst after that.

We have never been more disappointed in a restaurant as we were with Agostino's. The service was really bad. We waited 55 minutes for our overpriced entree, which was cold by the time it reached our table. The sauce was watery, the sausage and meatball were below par. I could have done better at home with a jar of Ragu. We won't be going back.

I feel that Agostinos is a great place to enjoy Italian food. The service is great and the food is excellent. I highly recommend it.
