Pokeworks - Brookfield

Fantastic dining experience! The entire menu is healthy and has really helped me improve my diet. The staff is friendly and has consistently gotten my order right every time. I look forward to my weekly lunches here! 5/5 stars.

We decided to try a new place and came here this week. The process was simple and you order as you go (like chipotle). There was one gentleman there (who I am guessing is the owner) who explained us how it works. You pick your base, followed by meat and then toppings and sauces. He also recommended doing a signature bowl as the dish is already designed with the right flavors. We went for the salmon and tuna! The servers were extremely generous and helped us with any questions we had. The bowls tasted good but I think there is room for improvement in terms of flavor. I felt as though a certain zing was missing which would really set the bowls apart! Overall it was good, and they have ton of flavors to explore. I will definitely give it another shot and try something else from the big menu they have.

This place is so hit or miss that I don’t even know if I want to continue coming here. Sometimes when I order poke it’s totally fine and comparable to other nearby poke spots. However, half the time I order I can’t even stomach more than two bites. The fish smells like it had been sitting out, the seaweed salad is brown, and all the “cold” ingredients are room temp. Today, I got the Seoul poke bowl and I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it after smelling it. The bowl smelled and looked like food poisoning just waiting to happen. The only reason I have returned is because of the rewards program, but after that experience I wouldn’t even eat here if it was free.

I used to eat here a lot and get take out a couple times a week. Then a few months or so ago the quality started to decline and it made me sick after eating. So I took a break for a few months and now I just decided to give it another chance and it made me sick again. It’s a shame because it’s so tasty and I love it, I probably ate PokeWorks 100 times. Now they changed something. I think the salmon has really gone down hill. Very sad.
