Dumplings weren't great either, California roll was mids. My wife didn't like her chicken tempura. The best thing was the chicken and broccoli with French fries, which I could've just ordered from the local Chinese food restaurant for half the price.
The food is good and the prices are alright but the manner they treat their black customers has me uneasy. After spending hundreds with a party of 12 in 3 hours, I went back in to use the bathroom before my long drive home only to be asked what do you want?. Many dishes we ordered never came out, and we had to ask for napkins many times. No respect at all despite a big tip! Never again, I'll take my money where it's respected. My very first time at this place, the owner turned the tables upside down as a way of asking us ro leave, I get it the location is in the Bx but every black person that walks through the door isn't a nuisance........
Shangerila is my best spot for good sushi. The have so many different options and great portions of prices for all customers. I'm always bringing family and friends here to eat sushi because the staff are very polite and respectful and you get your money's worth. The also make you get what you ordered on a respective time frame. Shangerila is highly recommended for friends and family enjoy.
The first time i came here, i had such a great experience. Their food was delicious and the environment was cool. We had so many different delicious sushis i didn't have a chance to understand what I ate (in a good way . Because of the great experience , i decided to order takeout with this restaurant. Unfortunately, each time i ordered something, it wasn't as good as it should've been. I ordered their takoyaki and it wasn't made the correct way (was half balls instead of full. Had sesame seeds instead of fish flakes. It was weird. And their pad Kee mao aka drunken noodles was made using Italian noodles instead of traditional flat rice noodles. That takeout experience was the worst 30 bucks I've ever spent on food. They specialize in their sushi. Trust that and you'll be fine.
We have dined here for lunch twice this month. Both times the food was excellent. We ordered from the lunch menu which is a very good deal. We had kung pao chicken, sashimi, sushi combo, and eggplant with garlic sauce. Lunch specials are accompanied by miso soup and/or salad. The bento boxes offer both. An excellent pot of fragrant jasmine tea paired well with the food. We also tried the scallion pancake yummy. The salad dressing is authentically delicious. Service is efficient and well paced. We will be back. I only took a pic of the sushi lunch.Vegetarian options: Some interesting tofu dishes
