Contribuiți la feedbackLove TWA, thé paris café staff has a great breakfast and service. Just went for dinner, coke was flat, hair was in my burger, service was really bad but server was clearly doing their best with how they were staffed. No one next to me was happy, went down to Vinny's and got cookies that were awesome, I also didn't have to spend 75 dollars to get it.
During my layover, my spouse and I decided to dine at the Paris Cafe. We had the crispy salmon, Ceaser Salad with salmon, a classic Cheeseburger accompanied by a side fries, a delightful Aperol Spritz and to top it all off, a heavenly Lava Cake for dessert. While the food was decent and left no room for complaints, it didn't quite reach the heights of culinary excellence we had hoped for, especially considering the slightly elevated prices. However, it's worth noting that dining options in the vicinity were limited, making the Paris Cafe the best option. One undeniable highlight was the restaurant's unique concept, which transported us back in time and added a charming layer of nostalgia to our meal. Also note sharing, our server was warm and attentive.
No doubt Paris Cafe offers a spectacular dining experience not only for its location in the stylish TWA Hotel but also for the excellent cuisine. Every dish was well crafted with a great balance of flavor and texture. It does however come at a steep price also considering the size of the dishes, and while the service is good overall, it was on the slow side during our visit.
Located in the 1962 Eero Saarinen-designed TWA terminal (now hotel), the Paris Café is a lively time warp of a restaurant. The menu was created by multi-Michelin Star awarded chef Jean-Georges, with inspiration from historic in-flight menus from Trans World Airlines. Think popular mid century, classic cuisine. Reservations are recommended, but not necessary. We snagged a table on a Friday night without one, right next to the extraordinary floor to ceiling glass window. We had a great view of the historic terminal outside, and the architectural masterpiece within. Service was genuinely kind and enthusiastic. I started with a Cucumber Martini, which was weak for $17 and too sweet, but drinkable. The Escarole Strawberry Salad was exceptional. The crisp, lightly bitter greens paired perfectly with the juicy strawberries, pungent blue cheese, and champagne vinaigrette. The Squash Ricotta Pizza had a great wood fired crust, but the toppings were skimpy and lacked flavor. My husband got the Caesar Salad, Corn Soup, and Yellowfin Tuna Tartare, all of which were good, but not great. These dishes felt low quality and uninspired. He remarked that his Roasted Beef Tenderloin was good, but the sauce tasted like Frank's Red Hot. Overall, still a unique and enjoyable experience.
Pleasantly surprised by the Paris Cafe located in the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport we made a reservation for 6pm, and we were promptly seated. If you're sitting by the window around sunset, know that you may need some sunglasses ;; we were blasted by the sun but luckily I had my sunglasses so I sat facing the sun so my husband could enjoy his meal without squinting. Because the original architecture of the terminal was kept, there aren't any shades to keep out the glare!Service was great Our server I didn't catch her name : was attentive and sweet, and checked up on us often.Decor it's an open kitchen restaurant really beautifully done! Outside views are the parking lot and the terminal. And of course, you can gaze around the beautiful interior of the lobby floor.Food We started with some cocktails try the Ginger Margarita! and ordered the crispy rice salmon sushi as an appetizer, the zucchini/yellow squash pizza, the cheeseburger and the turkey burger. The salmon sushi was already very flavorful, no soy sauce needed! My husband loves crispy rice, and it was a great start to the meal. The pizza was fresh out of the oven and the crust was slightly charred and just GORGEOUS. Great summer pizza with hints of lemon.Maybe we were a little greedy with our starters, but so worth it. The burgers each came with a small mountain of fries i couldn't finish : My turkey burger was topped with red pepper and this amazing smoky aioli that was fantastic and complemented the turkey perfectly. For dessert sour cherry pie with pistachio ice cream! Fantastic finish to a full out feast. Not gonna lie, it is pricey but you are paying for both a delight for your eyes i mean, just take it in you're sitting in a piece of history and having a meal! and also tastebuds. Breakfast is pretty good too! Try the egg breakfast sandwich, it came with these fried lumps of potatoes that were insanely good?! The potato game at Paris Cafe is STRONG
