Kedron Park Hotel - Brisbane

When we entered, we were appalled by how loud it was, and tried to find a table where we didn't have to scream together to be heard (and the room wasn't even full), but couldn't find anyone. my partner and I ordered both “Battered...Flathead” that arrived immediately. it was a big part, but the fish didn't look like flathead fillets: when I cut into the small flat filets and pulled the dough off and tasted, he confirmed my thought that it wasn't flathead, but whistled. the tartaric acid sauce was terrible, like the dressur on the salate. I just couldn't eat it, and my partner said that if he wasn't that hungry, he wouldn't have eaten it either. when we wanted to pay the bill, we were not even asked: “How was your meal.” we will never go there again.

We had a fun time as our first place we visited on our Australian adventures, so it was our first culinary adventure. we had a goal: eating, we did this (and to our joy and learned more). we learned here that we can sit... where we learned that they order at the bar and then they give them a number and eat them at the table. the table had ordered a chicken carving castle and a barra (fish) burger both with chip (freshfries). we thought they were delicious and just what we needed after two days. while we realized that we had to order cash vs from the table (we are new here), we were offered the opportunity to buy draw tickets for a fundraiser to win a plate of meat. also a new concept for us. We have learned that “we will negotiate everything in qld”. another lection. while we pointed out that they can also bet on everything and we saw what we would call a lot of slot machines that were in a separate room and we learned that this is called poke. the nice team that works behind the bar, we felt, was friendly and helpful. even if they have learned, we were visitors from the land “over”, were helpful to bridge the gap in our ignorance. we enjoyed it! visit the beautiful crew in the kphotel.

Stop tonight for a dinner. service excelent. food good and good price. really recommend. they have specials everyday. tonight was off steaks.

An old pub but extensively renovated with a pleasant feel about it. Ate in the restaurant which is nicely fitted out, with a view of the open kitchen with the chef doing his thing. Menu is extensive but fairly standard fare, with a number of...lunch specials also available. There is also a Seniors menu which was excellent value course meal). We elected a trio of dips as a shared entree (the pesto capsicum dips were the picks), and followed that with mains (rissoles, steak, schnitzel burger). The meals were all tasty a good size the steak was a little over-cooked for me but was still tasty. There is also an ice-cream bar. A full bar is available, along with a childrens playground (quiet inside), tab, keno a games room. There is free wifi. There are a few tables outside off the public bar but the majority of the hotel is inside airconditioned. There is a large carpark at the rear which is good as there is no onroad parking. It is on the main road buses would be available. Has the feel of a local' with a number of activities (trivia) entertainment on offer. Friendly professional staff were great offering full table service drinks, food coffees whiclst checking if everything was to our liking. Not a bad lunch overall.

Consistently good meals whenever I stop in for lunch (approx times a year). Not sure what the go is with the mushroom sauce lately... sorry not my favourite. Always a decent feed on the way to or from the city including a sound enclosed...kids area. Good to see the caveman platter made the menu ... recommend you share that one. Broke this girl. Lol!!!!
