Shelden On Mary - BRISBANE CITY

Bright blue umbrellas proudly announce Merlo Coffee's presence at Shelden On Mary. I stopped in for a large Flat White and a large Iced Latte just prior to the St Patrick's Day Parade. I placed my coffee order, requested a Vanilla Milkshake and then spied the pre-prepared Bacon and Egg on Turkish and ordered one of those as well. To my surprise, the man behind the counter didn't hand me one of the two pre-prepared Bacon and Egg on Turkish, but instead ducked back into the kitchen to start cooking fresh bacon and eggs. The coffee, though not the best Merlo I've had, was the highlight of the visit - strong, but not bitter - and rated 3.5. The milkshake was very large and was refreshing without being overly sweet. This rated a 3. Two freshly prepared fried eggs, two large strips of bacon and soft Turkish Bread for $6.95 was a nice treat (3rd breakfast) and rated 3.5. I give the man working there a lot of credit. He was on his own and was taking orders, making coffees and grilling eggs, bacon, burgers and sandwiches to order. He was literally running to keep on top of things - he did a great job. I was expecting this to be a grab and go experience, but was happy to wait the 10 minutes for fresh food, coffee and milkshake.

They have some really good good specials here for breakfast. In particular the avocado on toast was only $6. They do a reasonable coffee too with friendly service

Shelden on Mary is a cute little lunch spot for CBD workers, offering a fairly standard range of sandwiches and hot and cold meals.

The roast sandwiches at this cafe are filled with lots of roast meat and the meat is beautifully and tastefully cooked. The type of place office workers would go to get a decent lunch during office hours. Definitely worth a visit.
