Contribuiți la feedbackWe visited The Walrus for an early dinner before attending a nearby music gig. The restaurant on the upper level was pleasant and well-maintained. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers to share, including tasty garlic bread and a meat and cheese board. The bread was particularly delicious. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel, but it turned out to be a Cordon Bleu instead. While it was decent, I would have preferred a traditional Schnitzel. My wife opted for a burger with chips, but our group of 5 had to wait for the dishes to be served gradually. Unfortunately, her burger and chips were not as hot as we would have liked, although the rest of the food was well-prepared and hot. After raising our concerns, the restaurant removed the cost of our initial drinks from the bill. Overall, I am unsure if I would return to The Walrus in the future.
My experience at The Walrus on a Saturday lunchtime was overall positive. The pub had a nice setup with many cozy areas to sit. The light lunch we had was excellent and the service was great. However, I was disappointed with the beer. I tried three different lagers but each had a disappearing head and ended up being flat and uninteresting. It would be beneficial for The Walrus to use brewers glasses, monitor gas levels, and take more care in serving the drinks. Many other pubs seem to get this right, but The Walrus is missing the mark in this aspect and doesn't appear to be concerned about it.
Stopped off for a beer and some food along the beach. Food is good. Nothing special, just your standard beach grub, but it was well presented and tasted good so it was what we were expecting. The service on the other hand was absolutely brilliant. Super helpful with vegan requests and allergy information. Drinks were quick and they even offered to watch our drinks while we went towards the sea while we waited for our food. Checked back on us in good time, gave us an ashtray before I'd even lit my cigarette, and were just generally lovely. It's not a fancy place but wow are they hospitable!
Beautiful interior of the room with black rectangular board on the kitchen cabinet, the kind owner who serves at the tables with wooden tray, the racks with the scones and the cream tea really tasty. Lots of cakes to taste. The cups and flower saucers, all deliberately scattered to accentuate the vintage atmosphere. Background music.
Had a delicious breakfast baguette whilst working in the area
