The doormen and receptionists were polite, and the amenities were good. But the breakfast buffet was lacking; you had to choose between tea and juice, and there was no milk, yogurt, or bagels available.
Check in was awful! Friday 4pm for a holiday weekend and they have ONE person checking us all in. There had to be 20 people ahead of me and then another 20 behind by the time I made it to the front.. Rather than call more people to help, they handed out chocolate pretzel sticks. Plenty of workers passing through and no one to help. They also nickel and dime you $10 a day to park. Makes me wonder what my $31.46 resort fee is for.
I hate to say that one star is way too much. I decided to treat myself and spend the night at this hotel. Although the staff and the premises are amazing something has to be done about the restaurant/grill. I decided to eat at the grill and had the steak. The prices are ridiculous and I can honestly give this the title of the worst steak I have ever had in my life. I paid $86 for a steak that Applebees could have done 1000xs better. Whoever is the chef or cook preparing the steaks either needs to find another job or go back to culinary school. What a disappointment after spending an amazing night in such a beautiful hotel and having a restaurant that I will avoid at all cost in the future.
Originally booked at another place but it was not suited for my family so had to do a last minute search and found the Chateau on the Lake. Pulled into the location and walked in was so happy when the gentleman said that they had availability. Booked a room and was checked in immediately. The decor of the lobby was beautiful with Christmas decorations! The room was nice as well. Didn't get the chance to try the gym or the restaurant. The indoor pool was worth the swim. We all had a good time! If ever in Branson again we will return!
My hubby made dinner reservations at least a week in advance to celebrate my birthday. We had heard so many things and wanted to watch the sun set over the lake while eating dinner. When we arrived, nobody even greeted us at the hostess desk. We had to get someone from the Sweet Shop to help us find someone to even seat us. We were seated in the courtyard because the main dining room was closed with no explanation. (There were tablecloths wadded up in a ball on the floor). The only reason I even gave a 3-star rating was because of Rachel who was working very hard that night. She was the only bartender and only waitress servicing 5 tables and she did so perfectly. There was no regard for any of the customers by the other 3:4 employees who stood around the main dining room the whole time we were there. They moved the same 3 tables back forth, putting the tablecloths on/taking them off/wadding them back up on the floor. Not once did any of them offer to help Rachel wait on the actual customers. Shouldn't the customers experience be your #1 priority???? What a disgrace it was to watch these imbeciles waste an hour+ trying to set up the main dining room for a champagne brunch for the next day!!! I would NOT recommend this place. The food was good but nothing over the top. We won't be back.
