Gurme Restaurant & Weinlounge - Bochum

They have about twenty wines on offer, around the 20, 30€ mark (most champagnes around 80-100€ except a bottle of Dom Perignon selling for 275€ per bottle. The food was, according to the rest of the family rather excellent, most of whom had lamb. I had the bad luck of ordering some beef with vegetables dish wrapped in parchment paper which, contrary to my expectations turned out to be something resembling a Turkish approximation of goulash which turned out to be quite tough. The service was excellent and they really knew their wines, waiters on best behaviour, all wearing livery and white gloves. Quite impressive and for the service not at all dear.

Absolutely perfect evening. Great friendly, attentive service, super ambience, mega delicious food. I can only recommend everyone. Upstairs. I want to see you again at any time.

I came from Münster to the Gurme Restaurant. It is not worth 80 km, even 180 km away. Very good atmosphere with live music (piano), super delicious food and very nice staff. 5 stars!!!

The food from appetizer to main dish to dessert was fantastic, cooked to the point, tenderly seasoned and very creative (e.g. the lamb at pomegranate sauce). The service was extremely competent. Both the appropriate wine recommendation (Mandrarossa Nero d'Avola 2015) and the very correct behaviour at the table are no longer used. The loud street in front of the door must not be quenched, in the interior you hear nothing of it and can fully enjoy the food. Prices are not exceptional and definitely appropriate. Outside of Bochum, you would have to pay much more for this quality in food and service.
