Steaks N Cakes - Blythe

We scoped out the only two sit down experiences in town and this seemed like less of a risk (other places in slum like area with many boarded up businesses and shady hotels). Seems a quaint little diner and cakes on display as you walk in but they did not look very appealing. We seriously looked at menu with a thought to order things that would be well cooked to keep from getting sick. Wife’s Patty Melt was so so with a small patty. Fries that came with it must have come from freezer section of local store and they were not cooked completely. I ordered steak and eggs and had no complaints with the unremarkable meal that was supposed to have toast and hash browns but didn’t. All in all the staff seemed fine but we just wanted to get out of there and leave Blythe behind us.

The food was great. large portions. service was great. will stop again next in the area.

Very disappointed. Place gets high reviews so I tried. Waitress good, dinner salad good. Then it went downhill. I had seafood platter. Couldn't get fork in my baked potatoe nor my buddy. We returned them. All my fish not to bad except oysters. Very bad. My buddy ordered steak, couldn't chew brought home for dog. I think more of a breakfast place.Good luck!

Went with my family was just driving through Blythe. Was given a heads up from some people we met at our hotel that the owner has a bad reputation in the town. They said its for being prejudice and having a bad attitude and that their very political to the point of putting up inappropriate signs in their restaurant. I still decided to go unfortunately. Ive already planned it and being originally from Mississippi i know how to handle people like this. We arrived for breakfast. My wife since covid and being a cancer survivor is extremely cautious with cleanliness. This was challenging for her because it is VERY DIRTY. Everything was sticky. The carpet has a smell it was just not a very clean place. Still pushed through. I had my half black grandchildren my 17 year old son and my wife. We had a talk before going in that if anyone is uncomfortable we will leave. Menus were like i said before very sticky. I ordered the country fried meal. It was drowned under very under seasoned room temp gravy that left a weird taste in my mouth. I let my son have my food and shared with my wife. She had eggs scrambled with something. Spent a little over 60$ to only stop for McDonalds an hour later. No one enjoyed their food i think mostly due to the place being gross. There were political signs and stuff but it was a little hard to care about that when your sticking to the seats. The only plus was taking pictures with some of the vintage decor with our kids.

Great locals diner. The staff was super friendly. The service as great. I had nachos and they were very good . My wife had beef vegetable soup and a salad. Everything was nice and fresh and tasted great. Highly recommend
