Contribuiți la feedbackIt was quite disheartening, in fact insulting to be asked to get up and leave this restaurant after being seated indoors by their staff. Never have I been turned back by restaurant staff because i wanted to eat dessert when the staff preferred that we have a three course meal instead.
Terrible service! My family of three was asked to leave after being seated because we wanted desserts and were informed that the restaurant's policy is to only serve them if customers order alcoholic beverages or a three-course meal.
Our first time eating at Umami, it will definitely not be the last we really enjoyed the food, which was presented so well, as well as the non alcoholic cocktails. The staff are friendly and for the quality of the food and service the prices are very reasonable.
Lovely staff. Food was just below average. We had the party menu. Vegetable dish was bad. Starters were nice. Catering mainly for English clients not desi.
I have been to Umami several times and I have found nothing to complain about. The staff are friendly and attentive, the cocktail bar is well stocked with a variety of alcohol, the food is delicious, and there is always a great atmosphere whether it is a weekday or weekend. There are plenty of options for different types of food, including meat, vegetables, and fish, making it more than just your typical Indian takeaway. The menu features dishes like soft-shelled crab, salmon, scallops, and even lobster, as well as street food starters and a variety of mains from different regions of India. All of the dishes are tasty, flavorful, and delicious, with the lamb dishes being a personal favorite due to the tender meat. Umami is truly a hidden gem in Harborne.
