Large Downhome Southern Cooked Food. Great service. It is not a beautiful place in any way it is a 'working person' place for mouth irrigation food desserts...cafeteria style. Supet Highly Ask Ted There's an attempt that you won't regret! Shirley was a waitress she is friendly, helpful for Newcomer a first-class waitress.
Ted's is a family restaurant. Food is affordable, fresh and essential. If you go for their weekend brunch, you will be good until dinner. The menu has the usual breakfast price, but the breakfast sandwich with the choice of meat and the Quesadilla are my favorites. Also good are the breakfast bowls, real waffles and real pancakes. Never tried the chicken and waffle, but it looks amazing, probably enough for two. If you feel adventurous, try the Greek Burger or Souvlaki Sandwich. All orders come with fresh fruit and grilled red potatoes. As you can imagine, Teds is busy, but owner Tasos always has time to come for a visit. The restaurant scene in Birmingham has changed over the years, but thanks to traditional family restaurants such as Ted's there are still.
We've happened on this gem because we waited for a customer to meet for a car delivery. It's a place where Hallmark films are made. The owner was super friendly and had an unforgettable spark that illuminated the entire restaurant. Although we had never met him, his energy was like we've been friends for years. We also saw Ted the original owner and his beautiful wife. The food was good the dessert was Delicioso!! The restaurant was Quaint with family photos that were proudly displayed behind the register. This is the place to go! And if you have a hard day, you go to Ted 's, will it brighten your mind?
Fantastic breakfast and brunch, and Ted himself kept us entertained. If we lived closer than 2+ hours away, we would be regulars. The hot chicken and waffles are to-die-for, and I definitely recommend the grits bowl! Put at least a couple of meals here on your Birmingham itinerary, seriously.
