Truly delicious home made food and five star service!
The experience started with high expectations. The pickles were the highlight of my experience sad to say. For the price, the presentation was definitely lacking. I got the Hollywood. The corned beef was so fatty that I couldn’t even eat it. It was very disappointing. It was my first visit to this restaurant and definitely my last. And it has to be said… the bathroom was horrible. The stock better tissue at the public toilet in Venice Beach.
Fantastic Jewish food here. The food felt clean and was delicious. I had the Hollywood the crunch of the coleslaw was very nice with the corned beef and russian dressing. Also tried the latkes and potato knishes the knish I felt a wee bit moist served fresh, but took the remaining home and they were incredible right out of the air fryer. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Afterwords had a black and white cookie, which was perfect, as well as the chocolate rugelach. While the rugelach didn't seem traditional looking, the taste absolutely was and they were delicious. The bite sized form factor helps keep them from being too messy. If you're looking for a solid Jewish sandwich, you need to give this place a try.
The omelette was delicious and a good size (even for the high price). The everything bagel was brought to me not very hot and tasted stale and frozen. I asked for another fresh bagel and they were happy to do that without hesitation. The second bagel arrived hot…but still tasted frozen. I asked the waiter if the bagel was previously frozen, and he had said no. He did go on to mention that the Bagels are being purchased by a new vendor. I requested he tell the owner to go back to the original vendor. I don’t eat bagels often… In fact before Nate n Al’s, it had been close to eight Years having a New York City bagel. There is absolutely no comparison. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be going back to Nate n Al anymore. I will try to erase my last visit a couple of weeks ago, and remember the good times before the new owners took over.
