Tavolina - Beirut

Place is usually crowded. The setting is nice, and the welcome once you arrive is sufficient. We had to wait for a table, we're told it would be 5 to 10 minutes, but ended up waiting for 35 minutes instead. We ordered the fried calamari and recieved the grilled calamari instead. Sadly it was undercooked on one side and gooey, lacked any sort of dressing and was bland. We also ordered the mushroom risotto which was over cooked and tasted like Maggie mushroom soup. Definitely lacked texture and moisture. We also had a pizza which was acceptable and the veal escalope which was also okey but the oil it was fried on tasted oil and semi burnt. It definitely a mediocre Italian restaurant that is way overpriced for the quality and taste. We left full but disappointed. Never again unless it's for quarter the price.

The waiter doesn't explain what comes in the plates showing how not knowledgeable the waiter is thus concluding that the manager isn't professional as well. We ordered a ravioli spinach dish and got surprised that they were only 9 pieces in the plate showcasing how little the portion is knowing that its price is 200 000 lebanese lira. Never coming back to this place! 3ayb

Mediocre restaurant. Service is average, not professional. Food is just ok, not bad, not great. Prices should be lower for the quality and the whole experience.
