China Taste - Baton Rouge

Great for Chinese Takeout! I've been a regular at China Taste for years, and the food has consistently been good for standard Chinese takeout. Like most Chinese takeout restaurants, they offer a typical generic menu, and this place is no different. One feature I appreciate is the option to order from the diet menu, which includes steamed items instead of fried ones, with the sauce served on the side. You can request this cooking style for most dishes, and it's quite tasty!

This is an excellent family restaurant! My wife and I always choose this spot for our Chinese cuisine cravings. The food is consistently fresh and served quickly—we've never waited more than 15 minutes for our meals. The prices are on par with other Chinese restaurants, but they don't use MSG. The family who runs the restaurant is friendly and treats everyone with respect. We can't say enough good things about this place. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a try!

It's a lovely little spot. The staff greeted us as we arrived. The soup was decent, but I needed to add a bit of salt for my taste! They serve it quickly, and the bathroom was clean. Thank you!

I've been visiting this restaurant for years and have always had a great experience—until today. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very disappointing. I was unhappy with the price I paid for what turned out to be the worst food I've ever ordered. The person at the counter insisted there was enough sweet and sour sauce for my chicken, but it was actually lacking, and the crab Rangoon was underfilled. The chicken seemed like it had been repurposed from earlier, as if it had been picked up and then returned hours later. On a positive note, I was able to enjoy the lo mein with vegetables. I hope this was just a one-time issue, but I’m hesitant to return anytime soon to find out. I used to really like the food here, and I’m not sure what went wrong this time. I genuinely hope others have a better experience when they dine here.

I ordered the fried chicken wings and veggie fried rice. The wings were fried perfectly and well-seasoned, but the rice was extremely hard and bland. The peas and carrots tasted as if they had been quickly thrown into the rice straight from the freezer, and they were also quite tough. I've been coming here for years since I live just down the street, but this is my third disappointing meal. Three strikes and you're out, I guess! I'll probably head to China Kitchen or China One instead, where the Chinese food is consistently delicious and fresh.
