Great home style cooking... True soul food. The restaurant is very small and is usually pretty packed with people. Though that one Downfall, the speedy service, friendly employees, made to order, hot food, And the fair prices for the amounts of food you are getting definitely trump that.

The staff is amazing and the food is to, Great homely feel when you walk in. Nice place for a family to eat!

Love going here for a quick and affordable breakfast and/or lunch! The western omelette is great for breakfast and for lunch we love all of the lunch specials! I think my favorite would have to be the steak fingers, with mashed potatoes and gravy, really great corn and a side salad(add egg)!

There are diners and then there are DINERS. PT's Eat-A-Bite is nothing much to look at, but Man the food is good. It's so good I ate there 4 times in three days. Parking is at a premium along Jefferson Ave, but there is always the courthouse parking lot across the street. You can use the walk up wi doe if you ordered ahead or you don't want to sit inside. There is a small bar with stools. Several booths and a half dozen tables or so. The menu is not super huge. But breakfast is wonderful, cooked to order and filling. The lunch menu rotated along with several items that are available every day. A meat and three veggies along with a drink is less than $10. Let me tell you, the meatloaf is wonderful, the pork chops are quite tasty and the hamburgers are great. Look, it isn't fine dining. But if you want good food, fast and cheap, this is the place for you. The owner and his son in law were heading a crew of happy and pleasant cooks and wait staff. They will treat you right. I'm coming back to Bastrop in several months and I absolutely will eat here as often as I can.

We come here often and normally there are no problems. Tonight they obviously had new waitresses. Our waitress got my husband's order wrong. Both waitresses were busy sitting and talking with a customer at the back table instead of focusing on their jobs. They let a man sit for 15 minutes and not be waited on. He finally had to call over the manager to take his order. The service was terrible. I think those waitresses should not have a job tomorrow.
