One of the best Italian meals I have ever had, and I have had a few! We started with a very good glass of white and an excellent beer from Sicily, with excellent homemade wholemeal focaccia. The waitress was charming, attentive and friendly. We then...chose the antipasti for two and fish of the day, baked seabass, accompanied by a bottle of verdicchio. The antipasti were perfect, including the best arancini I have ever eaten. The seabass was huge and cooked to perfection, simply in olive oil with olives and lemon, served with excellent potatoes and greens. The verdicchio was to die for. I couldn't resist a dessert of cannoli with ricotta. All of it was spot-on perfect. The bill was not cheap but worth every penny. I would recommend it and go back in a heartbeat

There are many Italian restaurants in Basel...and there ist the AROMA...a true discovery and a place we are now addicted to! You do not find the old fashioned interior but a modern interior and enough space to enjoy dinner even if the restaurant is full!...This is fantastic because sometimes you feel in a romantic or ..an overworked mood! Enjoy! The waiters are so friendly and this from the beginning until the end..and they remember you ..because we went a second time only! The dishes are DIVINE: The antipasi , bruschette, or the pulpo...a dream! The main dishes..meat and fish are so great ..I never had and I do not cook at home) better lamb chops (agnello) and never a fish..served at the table , that was so good, not to forget the verdura , the veg or the potatos with it. Leave some space for the dolce , the dessert!!!! It is worth....I never had un tortino..melting in my mouth...so delicious or a panna cotta.... This cook...thank you so much for your gift, you are worth stars in any guide! SO: You eat there..for an absolutely correct price..like in heaven..you are a guest and treated like a friend..but perfectly! I will come back if I am in town and recommend this place for all types of guests! Thank you mille grazie
