Nou Candanchu - Barcelona

Food was amazing but unfortunately one staff member refused to speak to us as we had broken Spanish. Was ordering a drink whilst waiting for a table. Was also ignored a long time and locals were seated before us (they did not have reservations). The bar staff member pretended to not understand the word Cava and dismissed me as a tourist. I can only assume he was offended as I can’t speak Catalan. I always try to engage in language when I travel but being from South Africa, am not taught Spanish in education. Another lovely waiter however came up and spoke perfect English to help us. There are English menus so absolutely do cater for global travellers. The waiter we had was fabulous… thank you for restoring my desire to want to eat in this restaurant. The place was so busy but they kept the food coming out efficiently and it was delicious. I would recommend it and advise to ignore rude behaviour that spoil it for other hard working staff members.

Honest food, honest prices, friendly staff. Relaxed, local atmosphere. Not the best tapas in town, but definitely not the worst. Pleasant interior.

Very busy restaurant bit we were treated to a table and drinks immediately by a wonderful little senior lady. Food was amazing.

La comida en general está bien, hemos podido tener varias tapas que tenían buen sabor. Fue agradable el estar ahí un par de horas y beber algunas cañas. Con el servicio de la chica no nos ha ido tan bien, ha sido un poco grosera. Los precios están a la medida.

Un sitio bueno que merece la pena en el Barrio de Gracia. La atención en terraza, de 10. La Comida está buenísima. Pedimos unas tapas para picar y estaba todo muy rico. Precio de la comida, adecuado. Precio de la bebida, algo caro. Pero bueno; en general, os lo recomiendo. No te arrepentirás
