Bravo 24 - Barcelona

Booked a table whilst staying at the W. The restaurant looks fab but beneath that facade is trouble and disorganised chaos. First we had a table, then we didn 't and then , whoops, yes we did ! Not a good start. Service was frankly, dreadful. Kitchen service very, very slow and this seemed to put the waiters in ' hiding ' ? Quite a few of the tapas dishes were not available. Disappointing to say the least.

When we checked into the hotel, we were told to try this place out, so we made a reservation for 2 people at 10 p.m. Within minutes of making the reservation, there was a text and an email to confirm it. However, when we showed up, we were told no reservation existed in our name. Even after showing the email and the text, we were told by the hostess that there wasn't much she could do. We were offered the choice between waiting 30-45 minutes and seeing if we could be fit in or sit at the bar and have a limited menu. We left instead. Truly disappointing.

I recall, it was an interesting evening there was slight problem with the lighting in the restaurant it didn't spoil my experience. The staff were delightful, and very welcoming. I ordered a beer and perused the extensive menu I wanted Tapas, but I was being drawn towards the steak. I stuck to my guns I went for tapas (when in Spain... . I ordered patatas, bread and cod balls all were amazing. the cod was smooth, the papatas were crispy, and the bread was well flavoured with tomato and herbs. The food surpassed by expectation it was a great experience.

We ate there both lunch and dinner, super convinient if staying at the W. The food is great and my type of food, means fresh and not oily. Super good presentation. Very nice and caring stuff. A must try! They deserve a Michelin star!
