Mckay's Public House - Bar Harbor

Great eating, pleasant environment and friendly staff.

We had a great time here! our waiter was super knowledgeable and eating was excellent. maybe it was a touch loud/echo-y, but it was nye. plan to stop here.

First we are very happy that they were open. our waitress Alexis was very sweet, efficient and full of knowing about the food and drinks menus. eating was pretty good. I ordered shrimp scampi and was very happy with it.

Ambiance is very good. Nice place. Good menu. Food came out quickly. Seafood risotto was warm (but not hot enough). Meatloaf was OK. Server (Cory D) was unenthusiastic. No smile, no kindness. Seemed bored with the job. It doesn’t take that much to help people enjoy their meal. If you don’t like the job, get a different one.

McKay's never disappoints. Great salads and a choice of entrees that includes house favorites and new creative options. Attentive service in a charming Victorian style home. Always warm, friendly and relaxing.
