Village Inn - Bangor

My wife and I went there with friends for supper. The service was great. The food was very good. This isn't a fancy place but the service and the food more than make up for that. We had a relaxing dinner and evening. I totally recommend.

Do NOT let them sit you anywhere near the door. They have tables right near the door in a sit down restaurant. They do not lock the doors so people literally come in and let the freezing cold breeze zing past you. Let alone they walk right into your bubble zone. Stupidest thing ever to not lock the door. They don’t have any music playing and a telephone that is as loud as it gets that goes off every other minute it seems. Place needs desperately to be remodeled updated and the restrooms are no better. Only good thing about the place is the food as their fish fry and salad bar are on point, but if you are seated by the dam door your food gets cold fast due to the use of that door and the cold air it brings. Everyone near that door could not believe they let people use it as it’s about as rude as it gets for a paying customer to deal with. If you are sooo concerned that OLD customers can’t get up the other steps then maybe fix the issue instead of making the restaurant sitting area the main access point for them. If you’re not going to fix the issues then DONT put tables right by a door they use especially during cold temperatures.

Our first time eating here. Very cozy and warm, yahhh! Every single thing we ate was fantastic. So good! We both had delicious battered fish and steak, baked potato and fries were yum. I had coleslaw, garlic toast and beef barley soup from the salad bar, very tasty. We will definitely be back to this gem. They also have a very cute pub in the front and it was full of happy people, I saw a tv going up there, too. They restaurant is only open four nights a week, Th-Saturday, I’m not sure about the pub.

Authentic Wisconsin atmosphere family restaurant with excellent food. Highly recommended
