Wayward Southern Kitchen - Baltimore

I visited Wayward last Friday night (11/11) and I have never felt so disrespected by a bartender in my life. The bartender, who had short dark hair in pigtails and appeared to be over 30, ignored me for almost 20 minutes, just like she did with other guests of color at the bar. When I finally managed to order a simple drink, she mistakenly charged someone else’s drinks to my card. When I approached her to fix it, she responded in a rude tone, telling me to “take it up with her manager tomorrow.” It was an incredibly frustrating experience.

The mac and cheese was not cooked properly. They were out of black cherries and bitters for the Old Fashioned. The burger was good, though. If you run a business, please ensure that your bar is well-stocked.

The noise from the televisions was unbearable; it felt like my ears were going to bleed. We decided to move to the outdoor bar area, which was quieter, but unfortunately, we were overlooked by the staff. When we requested menus to place our orders, we were never given any. Ultimately, we ended up leaving, so I can’t comment on the quality of the food. It seemed like the bartenders were more focused on the lone customer at the bar than on us. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

BEWARE DO NOT LEAVE A TAB OPEN PAST 8PM OR AT ALL!!! I?ve been going to wayward for years mainly for the nighttime scene. We opened a tab and ordered the same 4 drinks and when I went to close the bar tab the bartender had charged 3 shots and an mixed drink that we did not order. After talking to one of the bartenders she was extremely rude and after conducting with the other she had an attitude and said I needed to pay a tab for the drinks I ordered even after I didn?t have

I was super disappointed with our experience here! Our water tasted weird, the beers had clearly come from either old or hot kegs, and our wait staff wasn't able to tell us anything about the beers on draft (which are actually part of a great deal during happy hour). We got an appetizer and it was perfectly acceptably made, but nothing special either. I don't know if we had a bad experience or didn't come with the right expectations in mind about either way it just didn't
