This small restaurant in a strip mall in Ballwin was excellent. I went with the Pulled Pork platter which was served on white bread, along with sides of Cole slaw and homemade chunky applesauce. Everything was delicious! If you're in the area, definitely stop in!
I was starving and rather than getting my regular meal, I dropped by this place and got Pulled Pork BBQ lunch plate. It was very good and sure did hit the spot! I cannot wait to come back again.
On Memorial Day, my sister and I had to fend for ourselves while family was out of town. Because no Memorial Day is complete without BBQ and neither of us are skilled in that area, we were blessed to see that Charlotte's Rib was open! Being from Ballwin, I have always heard of Charlotte's Rib and always wanted to try it. A few years ago on a random Wednesday, me and some friends planned on eating there and we were saddened to see that it was unexpectedly closed. So I finally got my chance to experience it on Memorial Day of all times. Our order was ready really quickly (about 10-15 minutes). We ordered the half-slab baby back rib dinner and a burger and fries. I enjoyed the ribs and my sides of potato salad and green beans (which were nicely seasoned). My sister's burger was big and was served on a hoagie bun rather than a normal round hamburger bun and there was nothing on it but cheese. The French fries were more like steak fries as they were really thick. The burger came with BBQ sauce, which she chose to put on the side. Even still, she liked the burger. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very old school, cowboy, Western themed. There are a number of John Wayne memorabilia throughout the main entrance. The entrance is also surrounded by numerous trophies and ribbons for the award winning BBQ here. I would definitely return for more ribs from Charlotte!
Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole in the wall. I got the Pulled Pork sandwich and wow... there are no words. A classic sandwich down right. Crisp bun, juicy meat, topped with Charlotte's signature sauce. There's about a million options between the menu board and the secret menu (you have to ask for it! so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go try it yourself! You won't regret it! Cool bathrooms too!
Growing up in west St. Louis county just off Manchester rd. this was our families favorite BBQ spot. It hard to believe that it has been 19years since developments forced them out of the restaurant that had so much ambience. The old charm may be gone, but the food is just as good, if not better than I remember. Growing older allows me to appreciate the effort it takes to make consistently excellent food. The CB Joe sandwich and fries is a hard option to beat for lunch. I really enjoy the seasoning they use in the fries. Slightly salty and a touch of sweet make them exceptionally good, dip them in the house sauce!
