The Getaway Cafe - Atlanta

The Getaway Cafe is always reliable in terms of quality, portion sizes, and flavor. It has a cozy, family-owned atmosphere, unlike the impersonal feel of big chain restaurants. It's hidden away from the main streets, so there's never a long wait or overcrowding. It offers genuine homemade cooking, which is becoming increasingly rare. The prices are incredibly fair, and the service is consistently friendly. Thank you, Getaway Cafe, for providing such a wonderful dining experience!

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I take both my money and my food seriously, so I was extremely pleased with my experience. The portions were generous, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the biscuits were soft, and the sausage was cooked to my liking. This has quickly become my new favorite breakfast spot.

Never eaten here before, and when I saw it on DoorDash (with a breakfast frame of mind), decided to give it a try. Ordered the Getaway Breakfast sandwich on Texas toast, with sides of cheese grits, biscuit gravy, and hash browns. Order arrived quickly, complete/correct and packaged well for delivery. The sandwich was delicious. Texas toast was done perfectly and all the ingredients blended very well together. No one flavor dominated. The cheese grits were delicious as well, not “watery” like some other places, and had ample cheese. The hash browns had a nice crispy coating but were not dry inside. Well seasoned too. Biscuit was not really flaky/moist...but had a bit of a dense chew that stood up to the gravy well. The gravy was a basic gravy...nice thick and peppery. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with just how tasty everything was. Would certainly have no qualms about ordering from here again.

Great spot for a meat and 2 vegetables. The fried chicken is very good and the collard greens were perfect.

I dine at this restaurant every day, and often twice a day, because it is conveniently located right across the street.
