And why have a hand sanitizer station at the front desk if you are not going to refill it? If it is empty, refill it or just remove it!
Food: Between the cook seemingly cooking my eggs first and the time it took for the waiter bringing out my food, it was pretty much cold. The eggs had a nasty taste to them and the meal wasn't as pleasant as the Flying Biscuits in other parts of Georgia. Not to mentioned I ordered scrambled eggs and they came out scrambled, folded and sat to get cold. Service: Was a I'm here to work typenof service. No smile, no pleasantries, not rude or nasty just a give me your order so we can wrap this up kind of blandness. She did come back to check on me but with the food and the service I decided against ordering anything to go. The atmosphere was ok. It wasn't bad and the area leaves much to do once you're done eating. A picture of my cold, scrambled and folded eggs included for your pleasure. Update: Before I left, I went to the bathrooms...both of them because the first was trifling. The second one was equally nasty. There was a sign on both that said to flush the toilet you have to raise the lid and put it down. I raised it. Waited. Put it down and nothing happened. I can only assume that the full toilet in the other bathroom which was also covered in urine from all of the previous patrons attempting to make a deposit without getting the previous patrons urin on them was not flushed for the same reason. I had to go next door to Chopt to use the bathroom. Please get new toilets, especially since the bathrooms are multi-sex.
This is not the first time I 've been to a Flying Biscuit by any means, but the first time I 've been to the fairly new one at Toco Hill. First, the negative side is minor, hence the 4 stars for atmosphere: it was very loud, and the interior architecture contributes to that; I 'm not sure how sound abatement could be achieved easily. With the sound level, it also felt more crowded unless casual than either the original Candler Park location, where I have dined on and off over the years, or the Midtown location which is more in between Candler Park and Toco Hill in character and atmosphere. However, some people may prefer the buzzier and busier atmosphere of the Flying Biscuit at Toco Hill. On the other hand, The positives essentially outweighed that one negative for me: The service was excellent Jasmine, says my receipt) and the food itself very well prepared and presented, much better I would say than recent years at the Candler Park location, though it is difficult to beat the original Candler Park Flying Biscuit, before it was bought and corporatized. I had the bacon and eggs breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled, grits, the infamous biscuit, and the greatest of rarity 's for restaurants these days: crispy bacon that actually came out crispy as requested! The eggs were not overcooked or hard, but rather a soft near-omelette-like, evenly cooked presentation without burn spots; nicely prepared. The bacon and eggs were well complimented grits and biscuit, the latter with a side of their signature cranberry-apple butter. The black decaf coffee was quite good so I had three cups, the cups not being particularly large; certainly not compared to my preferred coffee mug at home. But that 's okay too, because the server was attentive and kept it replenished. I dined solo, as is typical for me. My overall combined rating: 4.7 stars.
Arrived around 10, seated around 10:30, food arrived around 11:20, left around noon. Ordered the streak and eggs, no grits no biscuit, waffle instead. Eggs scrambled with cheese, steak medium. Eggs arrived scrambled, no cheese, steak arrived very well, no seasoning, waffle arrived cold. Also had a sweet tea that was over brewed and under sweetened. If I wasn’t a hungry 9 month pregnant woman, I wouldn’t have eaten it, but thanks to the long wait it was either force it down or starve
My waitress Shaya was fabulous, she was prompt and courteous. I order grit bowl that was supposed to have Salmon but there was barely any salmon in my grits for the $2 up charge. Beyond that my food was very tasty. My mother had the steak and egg plate. She said her steak was seasoned well and was juicy and tender. She also stated that they did not skimp on the cheese in her eggs. I also had 2 mimosas . Our table was a lil sticky when we sat down, but overall a good experience and I would definitely come back.
