City Winery Barrel Room and Restaurant Atlanta

The service was a bit haphazard. The staff needs some polishing. The food promised. The wine selection was overboard. I think it would be a good place to eat something before an event, but I wouldn't go back there just for the food.

Bad restaurant experience in years!! We never found out who our server was, 2 guys stopped and imagined, but were never available. We had to ask other people for help, ie sweeteners for ice tea, twice every time. I had to ask twice for an iced tea filling, then he brought me half a glass. The food was marginal, the frits were cold, fried Cornish Henne was far overcooked and missing meat. Never checked for the status. Must wait 10 minutes to check and until it gets blown in. The first time I left a $1. Tip. When one of the waiters ran after us and called the hall that he did his best, only once saw him at the end of the meal to clarify. If that sounds like a rant, it can be, but I rarely complain on the line or on websites. The worst thing is that several employees were standing on their phones all the time. If I have problems, I tend to talk to managers privately. I know everyone had bad days. I won't be back.

I like the place and the variety of artists who play here. But I'm never going to dine here again. The service was very slow and the food wasn't everything she was great for the prices. The menu also needs more variety. I recommend the wines and the concerts. Take care of the food here. Our waiting staff was very friendly, but the kitchen cannot maintain concerts with guests in the restaurant and guests.

Apart from the fries, we ordered around four dishes that took a very long time to come out. The waitress was unresponsive, so we had to ask other servers to help us. Despite the restaurant not being very crowded, the delays were inexplicable.

I've been to City Winery 6 times in 2019 for the excellent live entertainment they showcase. That said it is not a 5 or 4 star restaurant and with admission charges for decent seating expect to spend $200-$300 for an evening for 2. The service is friendly and professional and the menu is bistro wine bar style and mostly good to very good. The bottled wine list is a bit too pricey for what is listed. Bottom line, I plan to return to CW when I see a band or entertainment that makes it all worthwhile.
