Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Athens

Soon after, a female employee approached us and stated that they closed at 8 PM and insisted we needed to place our orders right away. This was frustrating because we couldn't sit down and enjoy our meal there. A sign on the door clearly indicated that the restaurant closed at 9 PM, but when we pointed this out, the female employee continued to insist that they would be closing at 8 PM. We arrived 45 minutes before their supposed closing time and could have comfortably sat down to eat. Feeling unwelcome, we decided to leave and find another place instead. It was a Friday evening, when restaurants typically stay open later. The next day, I ended up leaving the area and planned to try Bar-B-Q and Dickie's instead.

My husband and I went for lunch today. We initially tried the drive-thru but received no response, so we decided to go inside. Upon entering, we found no other customers and were not greeted. After telling the staff twice that we wanted the non-spicy sausage, we came home only to discover that we had received the Jalapeño Art instead. We won't be returning.

The food was delicious, although it wasn’t warm, and the sauce was quite good. However, there weren’t many options for meat or side dishes. We spent $40 for two meals and three drinks.

The Brisket Chili Frito Pie Stack should be called Frito Pie Lack. I ordered three. In each box we have half a cup of fritos with a few tablespoons of chili. For $8.75 everyone is an absolute demolition. It doesn't take much to fill me and I was still hungry! I get better hairito pies at sporting events for children. It won't be back.

I like ordering the pulled pork or the marinated chicken. They are both very good. They have really good sides as well. The service is great the employees are very friendly. Kenzie is the manager and is very nice to work for.
