Contribuiți la feedbackAt Lucky Fortune Cookery, the yaki udon with karaage offered an imbalanced veggie-to-noodle ratio that didn't quite hit the mark. The absence of the Baymax macaron on the app was a disappointment, especially after spotting it at the counter during pickup. The karaage chicken sandwich and accompanying chips also fell short of expectations, lacking in authenticity and flavor. Despite these hiccups, I'm intrigued to give their birria ramen a try. The staff was efficient, a plus point in a busy environment where finding a good seat can be challenging due to the bustling seating area.
Food was decent. The food definitely has one of the more unique flavors since it's a fusion place. Portion side could be bigger for the udon. Tried to come back to order a macaroon but was not able to get into the line because they had a cast member standing at the end blocking people. They have plates of the cookies stacked up and ready to hand out at the mobile order pick up window. I expressed my interest in ONLY purchasing the cookie and the cast member thought about it for a second before saying no again. Sucks it was my birthday too, but I guess it depends on the cast member. There was still a line of 30 or so people.
The wait was a little long, but I thought the food was really good! I had the Beef Birria Ramen and a Baymax macaroon. It was getting chilly and the ramen was very hearty, warming and tasty. Definitely hit the spot! The Baymax cookie was adorable but didn't have a lot of flavor. I don't think I would get it again, but it definitely has a cuteness factor that's also really Instagrammable. Seating is shared with the other eateries, but it has a cool street vibe and Asian influences.
Compared to other Disneyland California Adventure foods, definitely better than most, which I would give 4 stars, but comparing objective to other eateries generally, 3 stars. We ordered the Yaki Udon, Beef Birria Ramen, and Beef Bulgogi burrito. We definitely appreciate the new selection of foods at the Wharf but the Yaki Udon and Beef Birria Ramen were pretty heavily high in sodium for our taste. Conversely, the Beef Bulgogi Burrito could use a bit more flavor. Like most if not all eateries, we ordered from the app and because it was about 6 p.m., the wait took a while, up to 15-20 minutes. If you're looking for something new to try, definitely give it a go; however, if you're looking for a satisfying meal, I recommend heading to Flo's in Car's Land to get the fried chicken with mashed potato and vege plate.
Some of the better food in DCA. The beef birra ramen is good. I saw lots of reviews that said it was cold but mine was nice and hot! And I also liked the noodles and the amount of beef. Great hybrid cuisine. The baymax macaron is good but WAYYY to sweet in my opinion. I'd maybe get the ramen again on a cold night. Good amount of spice but too hot for the middle of a summer day. But at the end of the day, San Fransokyo square is so so cute! The decorations are unbeatable and the seating is a-plenty.
