Pitahayas

Every time we stay at this resort, we try to eat here. This time was no different. Had a 7:15 seating which is late for us and we were super hungry after a long day playing golf. Sat in the bar and had an outstanding cucumerbertini. Asked for bread or we were going to start gnawing on the furniture. Got seated immediately at 7:15. Four of us in the group, we ordered two beat salad appetizers to share and then 4 blackened fish dinners. It took for-ev-er!!!! The beat salad was very good. Next the entrees showed up, 2 of them. We politely told the waiter that we ordered 4 and were a little too hungry to share. They took them back (I 'm sure they went under the kitchen light to keep warm) and we then received the worst food ever. The fish needed a knife to cut through, the vegetables were bland and chewy, and the herbed rice was like little pellets. We spoke to the manager who billed us for the apps and three bottled water, of which we didn 't order. After much debate, we weren 't charged and went back to the room to have peanut butter and crackers. The place is beautiful, with the water heard crashing on the shore. Not sure what happened but I suggest such an expensive menu- grab a drink and eat somewhere else. Super unhappy! No apologies were offered by management

My wife and I have dined at Pitahayas every year since they opened, and the quality of the food is always superb. The setting is a stunning restaurant said just off the beach of the sea of Cortez was waves crashing on the beach. Inventive cocktails complement their Mexican pacific fusion cuisine. We have never had anything less than a five star meal, five star cuisine and five star service at this amazingly consistent restaurant experience.

We booked a New Year Eve dinner here. It was terrible! 5 course menu and despite letting them know in advance that one of us was vegetarian and one was no beef and being told no problem, we encountered nothing but confusion from the servers. Everyone there was being served at the same time. First two courses for my Wife(vegetarian) were foam then 3 sliced radishes. Hopeless quality and service. Alerted the manager and somehow the next course was soup which was warm and OK. The hostess emailed me the buffet menu instead of the NYE menu so of course the entree was short rib. I begged her to get me any other protein so she brought me some dry pork (I think) from the buffet line. We didn't wait for dessert as it was one hour past the time we were told we were we would be done and none of us wanted to spend 12 am at a hapless and mediocre restaurant. PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT! The chef should be embarrassed and resign! I never post bad reviews so imagine how disappointed we were tonight to post this review. Diner be ware!

This was my favorite place we ate at on our Cabo trip. You cannot get a better view of the beautiful beach. We dressed up a little more even though the suggestion was beach casual. I'm glad we did because there were others there dressed nicely as well. The food was delicious. Everything came out perfectly and there wasn't anything I didn't like. Our appetizer platter was awesome. My parents really enjoyed seeing the display. We ordered champagne for the occasion which we chose from an iPad. Is this new or just a Cabo thing? Either way, we left satisfied and our bellies full.
