Remos - Álvaro Obregón

My husband and I were in San Bruno for the last two winters and drove past Remos several times and said we wanted to go there. Last night we have and now it's one of our favorite spots to eat. The heifers and fried shrimps were some of the best we've ever eaten, we also had a whole fish that was delicious. We are island travelers and have experienced many restaurants and are very happy to add Remos as one of our favorites.

Remos is next to the Rudder Center in Progreso. Remos means oar in Spanish. The menu is seafood oriented. During our last visit we had the fried fish, fried shrimps and cerviche. We've eaten three times here and the last two years. It was a good cheap place to eat. We had an early dinner since they closed at 7:00. If we go to Chicxulub in the late afternoon, it is a good place to stop. The restaurant is well maintained and the toilets are clean. The staff speaks English, but it helps to be able to read a Spanish language menu.

We were directed here by a local and had yet to realize we were in for a treat. The restaurant overlooks the lagoon side of town and where there hold the racing regattas when taking place. We thought it was so afire in price and tasty that we returned twice in 3 days On both occasions I had flounder once with garlic type sauce and the other time with a sauce Veracruz which was fabulous My wife had the flounder in butter and lime and it was terrific as well Our friend had conch fritters and they also were great. I would definitely recommend going because the staff were top notch the food wonderful and the price very reasonable Enjoy

Very pleased with our fish dinners prepared very well. Large portions of fish prepared Veracruz style accompanied with salad and veggies. Nice location right on the small marina area. The only thing I did not like was the plastic table cloth covering a real cloth table cloth. On a harbour location it is hard to keep plastic clean and not sticky. Service was very good. We will come back. Don't worry about the place being empty.....the food is worth trying.

We did not have a good time at this place. Dirty. Very chaotic. Just should have stayed on the ship.
